Beauty writer Jessica Teas shares her favorite Chicago places to look and feel great.

Jessica Teas

This blogger lets us in on her healthy favorites.

Fresh from covering the London beauty scene, writer Jessica Teas is back in The Windy City, bringing a touch of European chic to her new blog, Chicago Beauty Review. Her beautifying weekend plans:

  • Vietnamese pho is a healthy, aromatic delight.

    Eat pho health.

"My husband and I go to Pho 777 regularly. You get a huge bowl of pho, which is a Vietnamese soup of vegetables, tofu, fish broth and all types of herbs, for just $7."

  • Jessica says the Brazilian hard wax used at Cleise is the best for hair removal.

    Wax on, wax off.

"The best Brazilian wax I've had in the US is actually in Chicago at Cleise. They use a Brazilian hard wax, which hurts way less than linen strips, and they get in there with tweezers to remove ingrown hairs."

    Multiple locations
  • Yoga Booty Ballet combines ballet toning moves with fun cardio dance and meditation.

Dance like no one is watching.

"I like Yoga Booty Ballet. It's hard at first because you're so self-conscious dancing in front of a mirror, but ten minutes later, you're having a great time and the next day, you're really sore!"

  • Get a facial and stock up on your favorite beauty brands at Bluemercury in Lincoln Park.

Spa and shop 'til you drop.

"Bluemercury has just the right amount of effective beauty brands (including some favorites like Skinceuticals, C E Ferulic and Caudalie Beauty Elixir Facial Spray) and they have a spa too, so you can shop and spa at the same time."
