Renée Zellweger "donutted" her way to Bridget Jones. Some say Christian Bale munched only an apple a day for The Machinist. But what should a healthy actor eat? That's what actors Christy Meyers and Lynn Chen asked when they started The Actors Diet, a blog about their diets and others'. Their weekend plans:
-
Walk it. Lynn: I start the day at Griffith Park, hiking up to the observatory. I enter across from The Greek Theatre: the loop takes about two hours. MAP
Christy: I do Runyon Canyon: I take the western trail up to the house that looks like a docked ship, and back. MAP -
Farm it. Lynn: I love Larchmont Farmers Market: they have samples like you wouldn't believe. The figs and strawberries are my favorites. MAP
Christy: I do the Hollywood Farmers Market. Every week, I try a new food. This week's was walnut oil. Turns out it's a natural source of melatonin, and a teaspoon a day may help bring sleep. MAP -
Eat it. Lynn: I have brunch at Café Du Village. I really like their chicken salad and their huevos rancheros. MAP
Christy: I go to BLD. They have a great chopped salad with edamame, cucumbers, tomatoes and corn, and they have an amazing vegan tomato soup. MAP -
Unwind it. Lynn: I usually get a great book at Chevalier's: they welcome dogs (like Julius, my Jack Russell). MAP
Christy: I go for a massage at Pho Siam in Echo Park: it's $40, and it's awesome. MAP -
Enjoy it. Lynn: I like The Great Mall of China: The food is mind-blowing and so cheap. MAP
Christy: I picnic at The Self-Realization Temple. It's so peaceful. Afterward, you can bike along the beach. MAPTalk about role models.
