Before you get lost in Margaritaville, be aware that calories and sugar from drinks add up fast. To help you party smarter, we asked mixologists from hotspots around the country for fabulous drinks that are heavy on flavor, light on calories. 

These VJ-approved cocktail recipes weigh in at under 200 calories a pop:

  • Honey Ginger Caipirinha: Imagine you're in Rio while sipping this tipple tinged with a hint of thyme. Bonus: Ginger heads off post-party hangovers.
  • The Orchard: Margarita fans will love the tart taste of this tequila-based beverage. Besides, an apple (cocktail) a day keeps the doctor away, right?
  • Vanilla-Blueberry Shooter: Don't let looks fool you--this jewel-hued shot isn't made for pounding. Sip it slowly and savor its complex and subtly sweet flavor.
  • Fat-Free Piña Colada: Go ahead, have two. A tall glass of this yogurt-packed cocktail comes in at a lighter-than-air 72 calories. 
  • Long Island Iced Tea: We ditched most of the booze (and excess calories) from a traditional Long Island and brewed up a fruit-spiked herbal tea version instead. Ours is tastier, promise!
