15 Minutes of Sane
It's time to rethink meditation--this one's for the masses.
Meditation is kind of intimidating. It's for monks...who like to sit very still, for a very long time, on a very hard floor--right?
Not according to Thom Knoles, the meditation guru for the overscheduled set. He's got a following of about 11,500 people, including lots of celebs (it would be uncool if we told you their names--this is their one moment for privacy, after all), and is known as the world's foremost instructor of Vedic Meditation outside of India (think Eat, Pray, Love).
It takes just 15-20 minutes and involves sitting in a comfy chair with your eyes closed at the start and end of the day. As the body becomes deeply relaxed, the mind transcends all mental activity to experience the simplest form of awareness.
To learn how, take an intro class with Thom or his deputy, Will Dalton.
There's no fee, just a suggested donation, so tune in, drop out...
If you're not lucky enough to live where they meditate, get a group of 10 people together and they will fly to you. Just email Will.
