No helmet or Astroturf necessary: former NFL player Bobby Neely, certified trainer, leads a "team" on the sand at his new Beach Boot Camp. In Santa Monica on Saturday mornings, even more women than men join Neely for pre-season-style sports drills. Why you'll want to be part of this huddle:
It's strong enough for a man, but works wonders on a woman. You don't need to know anything about football to benefit from power lunges, push-ups and sprints. Running on sand will give you both cardio and gorgeous legs.
You'll learn this calorie-sizzler. It's called a "suicide," but it'll make your heart race. Explains Neely, "You start at the 0-yard line and sprint to the 5-yard line, tap your hand down, and sprint back to the 0-yard line. Tap again and sprint to the 10-yard line. Tap and sprint all the way back to 0."
Classes happen Saturdays, 8:30AM, at West Channel Rd. and PCH (across from Patrick's Roadhouse). Contact Bobby to reserve a spot.
That's worth tackling.
