GreeNoodle is delicious mixed with veggies or meat.

Move over, Ramen. There's a new noodle in town.

Once upon a time, when we were low on funds and time, we turned to a familiar plastic package of curly, dry noodles that instantly turned to soup when we added hot water. That was before we knew what we know about sodium and fried stuff and MSG.

We'd long since given up on those handy insta-dinners when we heard of GreeNoodle. Launching March 1 in parts of Cali and online, these Thai-sourced, steamed and air-dried noodles resemble ramen, but have a big difference. They're free of artificial colors, preservatives or added MSG. And they're green--from moroheiya, a vegetable packed with calcium, beta carotene, vitamin B and fiber.

They taste great (we tested extensively) and take four minutes to make.

Leaving plenty of time to noodle around.
