Q&A
I always avoid high fructose corn syrup and corn syrup, but someone recently told me corn syrup isn't bad--only HFCS is. What's the truth?
"If you need to sweeten food or have cravings for sugar, ten out of ten times, that's bad. Any sugar is a sugar. Agave is actually worse for you than high fructose corn syrup. There is no such thing as a healthy sugar. The problem with high fructose corn syrup is that we're adding it to everything--even baby food--so we've created a dependency for sweetness and this is affecting many systems in the body. If you need a sweetener, unrefined honey is best."
