Let's Rock!
Take your workout routine to new heights.
For the past five months, a team of craftsmen has been working 'round the clock to convert a former Daily News garage into Brooklyn Boulders, an 18,000 square feet rock-climbing gym that will also offer yoga, Pilates, a screening room, a smoothie and coffee bar, and more.
Although the massive space doesn't officially open until September 9, our Vital spy got a sneak peek--and went Spidey on one of the finished walls. Here's her take:
• It's like Disneyland for adults. The light-filled gym has a mini Brooklyn Bridge, murals by top graffiti artists, and 11,000 square feet of climbable terrain to explore.
• The staff is super-friendly--not to mention easy on the eyes. (We predict hearts will soar along with climbers.)
• Burning calories has never been as fun. After an hour of climbing, you'll torch about 650 cals and get a total body workout.
Climbing the walls with your usual fitness regimen? Sign up to be a First Ascent member and you can start using the gym August 3.
$20 per day; $695 for annual membership (Ask about the discount for First Ascent members.)
