Tea on Tap
Whole Foods is pouring a probiotic rich elixir.
Curious about kombucha--the fermented drink made from green and black tea, sugar and a culture of bacteria and yeast?
No doubt you've heard the health claims, but perhaps remained wary of the concoction. (Bacteria and yeast? No thanks.)
Lucky for you, kombucha is now being served on tap at Whole Foods' Bowery location where you can sample just a sip. Choose between two flavors: BlissBerry and Ginger Devotion, both by Katalyst Kombucha. They're tangy and sweet--not sour--and the fizz is refreshing.
And similar to draft beer, devotees swear the tea on tap tastes crisper than the bottled version. Plus at $2.99 for a 16 oz. cup, it's cheaper, too. (You can also buy the stuff by the growler: $2.99 for the reusable 64 oz. jar and $9.49 to fill it up.)
Kombucha may just be your cup of tea.
